![]() ![]() These are the three primary colors of light that combine to produce other colors. RGB is a light-based color model that stands for r ed, g reen and b lue. More often than not, the results aren’t great. When you enlarge an image, your software is essentially guessing at what image data is missing based on the surrounding pixels. When you transform a raster image, you stretch the pixels themselves, which can result in a “pixelated” or blurry image. Unlike a vector image, raster images are resolution dependent, meaning they exist at one size. Raster images are made up of a set grid of dots called pixels where each pixel is assigned a color. The different types of image file formats But this is a good place to start when thinking about which format to use for your projects. For example, certain formats can actually contain elements of both types. Most image files fit into one of two general categories-raster files and vector files-and each category has its own specific uses. Welcome to Image File Formats 101. Let’s dive into the basics of each file type. The wrong format could mean a bad print or a poor web image, a giant download or a missing graphic in an email. Using the right type for the right job means your design will come out picture perfect and just how you intended. These files come in a variety of formats, and each is optimized for a specific use. Most everything you see printed on paper, plastic or a t-shirt came from an image file. But today we’re talking image formats and all those pesky little files that we use to create visual content for print and web.Įvery graphic you see online is an image file. : New firmware version 1.7.Think GIF is the most delicious kind of peanut butter? Instead, a brand new board design seems to have cured the problem. The problem is at least three years old, and it should not take three years to come up with a firmware update to fix the problem. I have always suspected that there was some sort of hardware fault in the design of the AMD USB ports, while others have suspected a firmware issue. I have also read that the latest AMD boards, just released in 2021, do not seem to suffer the same issues, which is a good thing. There seems to be some sort of issue related to USB ports on AMD motherboards. They do not seem to like to play together. Before you do, conduct some research into the AMD Ryzien(?) CPU boards compatibility with Canon cameras. If you plan to build a PC, I assume that it will be a Windows 10 PC. I'm going to continue saving RAW + JPEG, build a new PC for photo and hopefully can get DPP to work on that one. I've been installing and re-installing, DPP and Adobe's converter, I can't tell if one of those helped Luminar or if something from Dx0. Oddly, Luminar AI also started to recognize R6 CR3s. I've also installed trial version of Dx0 Photolab which does open R6 CR3. I considered going the perpetual license Lr too, but also wanted something that would continue to be supported, upgraded and my original post, I've tried Adobe's converter which doesn't recognize R6 CR3 files. It has a large following and community of users on PC's Intel / AMD, and MAC if thats your thing. Its free to try, and is on sale for easter currently. ![]() The moment however you get a 3rd party lens, the party's over. DPP is great for users who stay within the Canon eco system. I haven't experieneced any performance issues with it. DPP seems to like Intel based system's over AMD. I undersdtand though you want a streamlined process, the less steps the better. Brings up a good point, the DNG converter will work.
